About LD4P3 (July 1, 2020 - June 30, 2022)

. With support from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, LD4P3 aims to "close the loop" to create a working model of a complete cycle for library metadata creation, sharing, and reuse. LD4P3 builds on the foundational work of LD4P2: Pathway to Implementation, LD4P Phase 1, and Linked Data for Libraries Labs (LD4L Labs).

The LD4P3 partners--Cornell University, Stanford University, and the University of Iowa's School of Library and Information Science--in collaboration with Share-VDE, the Library of Congress, and the Program for Cooperative Cataloging (PCC), focus their efforts in 5 areas, or Work Packages, detailed below. LD4P3 runs through June 30, 2023 (the project's original end date was June 30, 2022, and has been extended due to COVID impacts).

Mellon Foundation, the Linked Data for Production Phase 3 (LD4P2) partners (Cornell University, Stanford University, and the University of Iowa's School of Library and Information Science), in collaboration with Share-VDE, the Library of Congress, and the Program for Cooperative Cataloging (PCC), are building a pathway for the cataloging community to begin shifting to linked data to describe library resources. LD4P3 builds on the foundational work of Linked Data for Production (LD4P) Phase 1 and Phase 2 and Linked Data for Libraries Labs (LD4L Labs).
