Updates
WashU
- ingest grant data on QA – issues with data source being worked out, e.g. dupe data like grant w/ and w/o grant #
- single sign-on working in QA
- growing interest and buy in for VIVO, found a way to retrieve PubMed IDs via email and can then use those to ingest PubMed, faculty member with 1,200+ PubMed pubs, faculty concern about their data on public web sites (e.g. http://knol.google.com) disappearing (potential win for institutional VIVO data source – although concern about empty VIVO profile coming up as a top Google hit)
Scripps
- progress on private grad program VIVO, ontology extension to tag pubs with what "year of program" grad student authors are in, WoS ingest work
Cornell
- working on automated HR ingest in a new way (D2R mapping with interim RDBMS), tackling issue with organization data from HR not being updated regularly, interactive tool for identifying orphan RDF and associated statements – beginnings of data maintenance tool
- encourage everyone to look at Ontology JIRA isssues for 1.5 (link?)
UF
- data ingest challenges with funding data, looking for suggestions on automated merges – challenge is automating logic "which dupe to keep" – will report back later

- Implementation Fest planning
Special Topics
- VIVO 1.5 feature to create a SPARQL menu page that links to a SPARQL query, possibly accepting parameters (pending 1.5 dev sched) or possibly supporting hierarchy of "reports", e.g. non-technical user querying "show me all faculty in the Chem department with a specific research area..." or "show me all of the core labs at UF (having a persistent URL for this query)" – create use cases at https://issues.library.cornell.edu/browse/VIVOIMPL
- also Indiana SPARQL query builder tool in 1.2+
- use cases for extending this area, e.g. reporting functionality in VIVO like "most recent publications for a department"
- useful to add potential use cases to JIRA VIVO Implementation Space (add link?)
- output on HTML output of SPARQL menu page (possible link to RDF, CSV, JSON result)
