User Stories, Fall 2011

The results below stem from a WCMC team’s brain storm session on 9/8/11. Their intent is to create additional use cases and further detail them to provide input to the development team on both features and priorities.

Researcher use cases

• Ability to edit profile
• Delegate someone to edit
• Print a CV or biosketch
• Produce reports in VIVO
• Ability to edit grant info
• Ability to suppress info from profile (e.g. publications)
• Arbitrary sort of publications
• Show expertise from standard words
• Post pdfs of publications
• Ability to search
  • All VIVOs
  • Multiple sites (e.g. CTSA members, multiple campuses with separate VIVOs)

IT Staff use cases

• Integrate with SAML identity providers
• Logging system to track changes
• Exception reports
• Nightly change report
• Updates in system sources not yet reflected in profiles
• Suppress log in during maintenance

Administrator use cases

• Data Stewards
• Report builder for research administrators
  • identify where research is being done in an institution
