  1. Meeting with New Lyrasis CEO (Bruce, Anna and Fadwa, 15 mins)

We will discuss Lyrasis’ plan and a simplified VIVO road map which we will share with John.

Dear Bruce and Anna,

When we met earlier, I talked to you about our strategy going forward at Lyrasis, focusing on three areas: (1) licensing, with a bridge to Open Access, (2) hosting, and (3) support for e-books and community engagement through Palace and BiblioLabs. In late March, our leadership team had a very successful retreat, working through a number of questions and elaborating on these goals. We’ll be moving forward with this strategy more aggressively. One of our decisions was to invest in DSpace, adding digital preservation functionality, to create a Lyrasis-branded repository hosting service. We’re excited and hopeful about this direction. We remain committed to serving as an organizational home for VIVO, and during the coming year we’ll work on refining our “org home” model. I want to assure you that our decision with respect to DSpace does not change our commitment to VIVO or the nature of the relationship. At some point in the future, I’d like us to explore whether we might deploy a hosted version of VIVO, but that’s not currently a priority. I’d be happy to schedule some time to talk further or answer any questions you may have.

John P. Wilkin, Chief Executive Officer

Discussion of possible change to VIVO logo: members expressed concern about maintaining established brand and keeping “connect – share – discover.”

  1. Seeking funding discussion (Bruce and Dragan, 25 mins)
