N2T-based test ARKs for non-EZID users This is a much narrower version of the proposal I brought in last month, which was to expand the role of NAAN registry to record shoulders under the four non-institutional NAANs. There was general agreement that a clearer understanding of the different options would be good, including the technical, admin, and user impact of each option. Tasked with writing up the options, I found the job bigger than I expected, so in the interest of supporting the INCIPIT project I propose to put the generalized proposal on a shelf and try to come up with a agreement on how INCIPIT might proceed with n2t-based test ARKs that do not conflict with EZID test ARKs. This is the immediate need and the general question can wait. | |||
First draft policy statement on NAAN assignment and update. The plan is to pull some text out of the github repo's README.md file. Some of the policy reflects use cases that have played out on our mailing list recently. |
