Membership allows LYRASIS to fund salaried staff positions to carry out the following activities in support of VIVO:
- Leading technical development and maintenance
- Program administration
- Ensuring sustainability
- Raising funds
- Coordinating the user community
- Globally promoting activities to grow the number of members and technical contributors
- Establishing international collaborations and strategic partnerships
- Keeping the source code publicly available
- Support and maintain infrastructure (e.g. mailing list, Slack)
- Hosting weekly open development calls
