Membership allows LYRASIS to fund salaried staff positions to carry out the following activities in support of VIVO:

• Leading technical development and maintenance
• Program administration
• Ensuring sustainability
• Raising funds
• Coordinating the user community
• Globally promoting activities to grow the number of members and technical contributors
• Establishing international collaborations and strategic partnerships
• Keeping the source code publicly available
• Support and maintain infrastructure (e.g. mailing list, Slack)
• Hosting weekly open development calls
