Agenda
Discussion topic: The sense/nonsense of adding new metadata schemas as part of new features in DSpace
Background: This very recently came up with the live-import from ScienceDirect contribution, where a few new metadata fields came along in a new schema, with the rest of the contribution.
Are additional schemas a good thing if:
- they lead to more clarity for the user base
- they help to avoid users forcing values into fields that are not intended to contain that information
- they steer clear from duplicating a field from another schema that has the same, or a very similar purpose?
