1. News

   1. Thank you and so long to Leonie Hayes and Monica Roos
   2. DSpace 1.7 release update
      1. cmtr/dev finalized likely features will be included (https://wiki.duraspace.org/display/DSPACE/DSpace+Release+1.7.0+Notes)
      2. cmtr/dev reviewed link to the feedback gathered on desired features from DGOC and Ambassadors, several of them in JIRA and being worked on (https://wiki.duraspace.org/display/DSPACE/Feature+requests+-+distilled)
      3. Timeline
         1. Oct 22 all code needs to be completed
         2. Testing in Nov 8-12
         3. Final release in mid-Dec

2. Follow up on TODOs

   1. registry update push
      1. Revise instruction - make form links bold/different color or right hand link to forms
      2. Clean up on search - caps, descriptions vague/abrev don't make sense, form and browse need to be the same
      3. new field on registry - add repository case study / presentation links (Val)

3. review of JIRA new feature requests

   2. DGOC to f/u on items: get more detail, encourage discussion on list, encourage voting
   3. dealing with dev centric features vs. user features - find another category for dev centric or describe in lay terms
   4. will begin in Sep 7 DGOC mtg: go through JIRA new feature items for 1.7, add any comments, have discussions on list, encourage voting
   5. every subsequent mtg go through 5-7 items to get through backlog, then stay current
   6. # registered users in JIRA - see if it goes up, # votes vs. # of registered users (set a baseline)

   1. DSpace wiki clean up (Rea, Alvin, Ronee)
      1. UofT intern program in both fall and winter, if fall, need to start
      2. Rea can't be project lead, needs some one else to volunteer
   2. Fostering more community discussions (Ronee) 
      1. discussions forum on wiki - seeded by q&a from mailing list archives and fed by regular chats (like ALA discussions) - develop project plan
   3. Webinars/tutorials
      1. SWORD deposit tool
      2. Batch metadata editing
