          • Request from Sheila Rabun:
            • If your organization has been using DSpace version 5 or 6 and you have either used the ORCID lookup tool or CSV import functionality to get ORCID iDs into your instance of DSpace, please email orcidus@lyrasis.org and/or leave a comment on this Github ticket: https://github.com/DSpace/DSpace/issues/9530
            • From Tim Donohue on Github ticket

You are correct though that there is currently no migration process to move from ORCIDs in Authority records to ORCIDs in Person Entities. I just wanted to clarify that ORCIDs in Authority records are still supported, so site can still upgrade to the latest version of 7.6.x or 8.x and use them. There's no requirement to migrate to using ORCIDs in Person Entities in order to use DSpace 7.6.x or 8.x

          • Sheila provided an update regarding a grant to improve functionality and integration between ORCID and DSpace. As part of this grant project, Sheila's identified some issues that are more complex that will require more community involvement and discussion. Tim Donohue suggested Sheila reach out to DCAT regarding setting up a working group to dive into those issues. Kimberly noted that this work likely involves both technical and user aspects and so could involve a working group that's larger than just DCAT. Iryna expressed interest in being involved in this work. Kimberly and Sheila will meet and Kimberly will discuss with the Steering Committee chair to determine next steps.
      • DSpace/DSpace CRIS Info
        • Kimberly is working to see where DCAT might fit into these conversations to make sure efforts are coordinated
      • Developer Meetings and DCAT Input
        • Pierre Lasou willing to attend weekly DSpace developer meetings and bring back issues to the DCAT group. Don't have examples of this yet, but expect that Pierre (or others attending) could bring up issues on the DCAT listserv, potentially have quick ad hoc meetings
        • Others who attend developer meetings can get involved by getting in touch with Kimberly
      • DSpace and OpenAlex integration
        • Timeline: hopefully released in conjunction with DSpace 9.0
        DSpace and OpeAlex integration

  • Discussion Topics
    • Outstanding info requests
      • Media viewer
      • Collection admin
      • Genny and Pierre not on today's call, Kimberly will follow up with them about these 2 requests
    • Working Group Updates
      • UX (User Experience)
        • will hopefully hear more about these reports in February
      • Task-Oriented Documentation
        • Sprint next week
        • Pricilla and Laura have done a lot of work organizing for this working group
        • Planning to provide contextual information regarding why an IR manager may want/need to perform particular tasks
      • Introduction to DSpace (on hold)
      • Advanced Configurations (Contact Pierre or Kimberly if you want to join this group - need more people)
      • Feature Requests (on hold - information coming soon.
      • Community agreement/code of conduct for DCAT: Kimberly's hoping to set up a working group to work on this in 2025. She noted that there aren't currently any set norms for DCAT and the monthly calls.
    • Theme for 2024-2025
      • DCAT will propose a theme for 2024-2025; 2023-2024 theme was "Community Engagement"
      • "Community Input" or "Documentation" or "Robust DSpace"?
      • "Accessibility"? (from a U.S. perspective, changes to Title II in new year, though Kimberly noted that no DCAT efforts are currently focused on accessibility–perhaps this would be a good idea for 2025-2026 theme)
      • Kimberly will send out request on the DCAT listserv too, since it's a smaller group in today's meeting
    • DSpace 9 Testathon Dates: (tentative) April 7-18; Kimberly will ask about holding the testathon slightly earlier in April to avoid both Ramadan and Good Friday holidays
    • DSpace Learning:
      • What do you need help with? Google Doc
      • Lack of documentation, or opaque technical documentation, for tasks and options available in DSpace 7.x going forward (such as curation tasks and other tasks now available in the web-based interface that were previously only available to IT and developer staff)
      • examples mentioned during call: workflows; format registry (managing and adding, as well as dos and don'ts); creating and managing groups; curation tasks; processes (specifically from the processes tab); importing data from other services/sources
      • Possibly host some lunch-and-learns on some of these topics; also have some conversations with developers to understand some of these tasks better and write more user-focused documentation
