I have no problem with the DC schema

But in an out of the box solution most of us have parts of a journal like volume, issue, spage and epage that we do some hack on to include, if we dont then this data is not captured in the separate parts and it makes it very difficult to add in integration with other systems eg link resolvers like SFX.

Without granular data available we are very limited in exposure and it creates a lot of manual work in the citations elements. I would strong support the move to include a standard metadata schema to handle these elements.

Most repositories have journal metadata and it seems that an out of the box solution for this problem would be very welcome.

Prism is a standard that seems to lend itself to managing this type of data so it would be such a bonus to have this available as well.

Scientific repositories would probably really like to include Darwin Core as a schema

The other thing that I would love to see out of the box is the ability to construct a citation automatically.
