The Boston Area MarkLogic User’s Group is having a Semantics in Theory and Practice event in Waltham, MA from 5:30-7:30 pm on Tuesday, January 27th and would like to get maximum exposure
MarkLogic is a company that has relatively recently started offering triple store technologies to complement XML and NoSQL
MarkLogic triple store technology is being used by the Library of Congress and other large organizations
There will be 2 presenters:
Stephen Buxton, Product Manager for Search and Semantics at Marklogic, leads us in a high-level conversation on semantic triples, what they can do, how they work with other data types and how that might impact your organization.
Beverly Jamison, Sr. Director of IT Architecture at American Psychological Association (and a colleague of Hal Warren), to discuss industry-specific semantics issues, how her organization uses semantics and the process of getting where they are today
