Demos
We will look briefly at work by Tammi DiPrima and Tim Worrall to add people's home institution to supplement their department name in http://reach.suny.edu
Joe McEnerney will then show a web-based data integrity tool he is developing to help find and process malformed and/or duplicate data in Cornell VIVO. This tool is currently hardwired to use local ontology extensions but we want to make it available in a more configurable form. If there are sites interested in using it and helping with that process it would be good to know.
Notable Development List Traffic
- Harvesting image blobs from Oracle database – Nick Veenstra (Eindhoven) posted a Java class to supplement the image ingest currently in the Harvester, using the H2 database
- Deploying VIVO on Windows7
- From Simon (Melbourne) – Dirty data with embedded <span> tag in rdfs:label causing error
- From Mummi (Iceland) – a pointer to the Rightfield tool for configuring spreadsheets with ontologies to use for annotating data
- From Jing (Johns Hopkins) – a pointer to the DERI-developed Privacy Preference Ontology
- From Catherine (Scripps) – problems with duplicates introduced from Pubmed harvesting; working with Sunita
- Tammi (Stony Brook) – captcha on the contact form in 1.5
