Notes

VIVO - ElasticSearch integration

The engine for ElasticSearch was part of the VIVO codebase for years, but wasn’t fully functional. Ivan fixed some issues and created a PR - https://github.com/vivo-project/Vitro/pull/469. It should be tested thoroughly before its merging. The BrCRIS team joined the call, they hope they might be more active in the community in the future calls and contribute. They might be interested in replacing Solr with ElasticSearch. Moreover, if they decide to contribute some other feature, Dragan suggested firstly to open a github ticket (https://github.com/vivo-project/VIVO/issues) for a discussion at weekly calls.

VIVO 1.15.0

Dragan informed the team that VIVO 1.15.0 release candidate 1 is ready for testing, and discussed different testing methods, including using local machines or a TIB server instances provided by Georgy.

VIVO demo and test site

There was a discussion about the use of openVIVO sample data for a VIVO demo instance, with concerns raised about potential privacy issues and the lack of a clear license agreement for the use of this sample data. As a result, Brian suggested using a tool written by Mike Conlon to generate new sample data, and discussed the potential use of a large set of synthetic data for their demo instance. One option might be also to use part of BrCRIS data.

SPARQL editor

BrCRIS team is interested in the improvements of SPARQL editor and if they decide to contribute in this aspect it might be a topic in the forthcoming meetings.
