Notes
- Updates
- Conference
- Almost finalized the keynotes and invited speakers
- Thinking of putting two invited speakers together in a 90-minute block with no competition
- Abstracts close today – always wish we have more
- Will have late-breaking submissions - sometimes only for posters in the past, but will do late breaking papers and panels if not enough submissions
- can invite additional speakers if have gaps to fill
- will recruit posters
- And will likely have a few stragglers coming in as well
- Quality good? good diversity, 45+ submissions, and typically about that number of speaking slots but may have less competing with the invited talks
- Would like to see more from SURA and diverse
- Not that many international ones – poke and prod to submit even if late
- Would be good to have a set of implementation-focused presentation
- CTSA or consortium topic
- Conference sponsorship drive to start
- Have list of last year's sponsors
- Encourage triple store vendors to participate as presenters
- Tech Lead job search
- great candidates coming in and hoping to have interviews as soon as possible so we don't lose people
- some people on the search committee know some of the candidates
- good ratio of qualified candidates to the whole pool
- 1.8
- new release candidate this afternoon or Monday, and testing again
- Testing VIVO on Virtuoso to debug remaining issues with slow deletes
- IFest Survey
- Will tabulate and share results of the I-Fest survey
- Use of Ontology with Fedora/Hyrda
- Fedora 4 supports the production of RDF out of the repository
- What does that mean? what are they using for a data model
- The extended Fedora community (Islandora and Hydra) is doing the Portland Common Data Model and would be great to have discussions
- Jon and Andrew could coordinate it – Andrew and David have a window into both the Islandora and Hydra communities
- would be pretty straightforward
- Visualization Task Force
- Katy Börner will be at Northwestern in mid May– will ask her about her willingness to advise on our visualization task force
- Who will chair that group? Have participants, need chair
- VIVO survey should we do every 2 years?
- Should we intersperse a quantitative survey with a qualitative update?
