2012 VIVO Data Workshops

Chris Westling from Cornell will be joining me for our next VIVO Implementation call Thursday, August 9, for a group discussion of our respective VIVO 2012 Conference workshops. Chris is organizing the afternoon "VIVO Data Integrity and Maintenance by Example" workshop, and I'm organizing the "Survey of VIVO Data Ingest Methods" workshop that morning. This subject area has come up in past Implementation calls, so we'd appreciate the input and feedback if you can join us.

GOALS:

  • bring together folks involved in VIVO Data Management (ingest, quality, maintenance)
  • reignite sense of this community

VIVO Grant Data Ingest

Michaeleen at Scripps also brought up a question on the mailing list about ingesting grant data directly into VIVO from either NIH Reporter or Exporter, which seems to fit in nicely with our data ingest focus. Check with Sunita from WashU at conference. Kristi said that she thought that Sunita had worked with ingesting this data.

VIVO.IS-BY.US

Vincent set up a VIVO.IS-BY.US site on Amazon AWS to serve as a demo and a place to put information about VIVO exploration and implementation efforts (as well as production sites). We will provide log in information on the call and encourage all sites to put information about the version of VIVO they are running, the people involved, and additional tools used.

Feedback is welcome on what else could be added – e.g., skills, data sources, needs, job descriptions
