Contribute to the DSpace Development Fund

One big issue facing many administrators of institutional repositories is how to encourage submission of content. To do so, the submission of new items needs to be as simple as possible. Even if only minimal metadata is required to submit new content, simply providing the ability to add additional metadata can prove daunting for users.
Systems that are capabale of automatically determining metadata from the content files can not only make the submission process easier and less daunting, but can also improve the quality and coverage of metadata being entered into the repository.
