Title: Assist the DSpace community with a mapping project for all DSpace instances.

Description: The goal of this project would be to create a map visualizing all the DSpace instances around the world, similar to the one available at http://maps.repository66.org/. The Repository 66 map relies on self-registration only to gather instances and currently has only 460 DSpace instances identified. DuraSpace staff have researched and tracked DSpace instances and have found that the number of known instances is now approaching 800 in over 80 countries. Since the Repository 66 map is frequently referenced as a visualization of location of DSpace instances, there is a need to be ensure that it more accurately reflects all known instances.
This project would involve researching the city, latitude and longitude of all known instances. About half of the instances already have this information gathered -- but the other half will need to be gathered. Some quality control will need to be performed on the entire list to make sure the information is valid and accurate. There would be further work with DuraSpace staff and others to convert the existing spreadsheet in to a visual map presentation.
