            • All versions of DSpace 7.3+ and 8.x support both ways of storing ORCIDs
              • The traditional way of storing ORCIDs with authority records is still supported and is described here: https://wiki.lyrasis.org/display/DSDOC7x/ORCID+Authority
              • The new way of storing ORCIDs on Person Entities was added in 7.3. It allows for a tighter integration with ORCID (including authentication). It's described here: https://wiki.lyrasis.org/display/DSDOC7x/ORCID+Integration

            You are correct though that there is currently no migration process to move from ORCIDs in Authority records to ORCIDs in Person Entities. I just wanted to clarify that ORCIDs in Authority records are still supported, so site can still upgrade to the latest version of 7.6.x or 8.x and use them. There's no requirement to migrate to using ORCIDs in Person Entities in order to use DSpace 7.6.x or 8.x
