Call for participation

The DSpace Praxistreffen 2023 (previously called DSpace Anwendertreffen) will proceed on March 23rd and March 24th, 2023 as a face to face meeting in Berlin, Germany. The #DSpacePT23 is hosted by Technische Universität Berlin, Universitätsbibliothek and The Library Code GmbH. We will record presentations and are currently investigating if a live stream can be provided.

This meeting is about exchange between DSpace and DSpace-CRIS users. Also the annual meeting of the DSpace Konsortium Deutschland will take place on the first day of the Praxistreffen in the afternoon. We kindly ask for submissions in the format of presentations, round tables and workshops. Presentations and workshops will be hold on March 23rd, Workshops on March 24th, 2023.

• Presentations:
  one or two speakers, approx. 15 minutes + 5 minutes discussion.
  Please submit: The names of all speakers, a title of the presentation, and a short abstract. Please be aware, that presentations will be recorded and probably streamed live online.

• Round Tables:
  A space to discuss a specific topic. Approx. 45 minutes.
  Please submit: Topics you think users should discuss and the names of one or two moderates for the round table. Round tables will not be recorded/streamed.

• Workshops:
  Workshops shall give DSpace users the possibility to work together on a specific topic, e.g. how to connect to/use an external service or the demonstration/discussion of an add-on, for up to three hours. The DSpace-CRIS workshop, that took place in the past years, is a good example of that format. Of course, there will be a continuance of the DSpace-CRIS workshop in 2023.
  Please submit: Title, an abstract, a timeframe, how many users roughly you expect, and if you have any specific request like a whiteboard, a projector, or setup every participant should prepare. Contact us if you would like to consult us beforehand. Workshops will not be recorded/streamed.

All slides should be licensed CC BY 4.0, as we plan to publish them in DSpace's wiki. While the main conference language will be German, we will accept presentations, roundtables, and workshops in English as well.

As always, the participation will be free of charge, a registration is necessary. The registration will open soon, we will inform in time via mailing lists and publish informations here. We have a limited capacity of 90 participants.
