Call for Participation

The DSpace Anwendertreffen 2021 will proceed on April 15th and April 16th, 2021 as a completely virtual meeting. It is organized and sponsored by The Library Code GmbH. This meeting is about exchange between DSpace and DSpace-CRIS users. Also the annual meeting of the DSpace Konsortium Deutschland will take place on the first day of the Anwendertreffen. We kindly ask for submissions in the format of presentations, round tables and workshops. We will not have a minute madness this year, but we will try to create a new format instead. If you have a feature in your repository, if your repository has an interesting concept, or if your repository is special in any other way and if you think that other would benefit from getting to know that, please send us an email (see below) describing this speciality. We will then come back to you with information about the new format we are thinking about.

Thursday:

• Presentations:
  one or two speakers. ca. 15 minutes + 5 minutes discussion
  Please submit: The names of all speakers, a title of the presenation, and a short abstract.
• Round Tables:
  A space to discuss a specific topic. Estimated 30 minutes
  Please submit: Topics you think a round table should discuss and whether you could moderate a round table
  
• Repository specials:
  As explained above, we will try to create a new format to exhibit specialities of repositories (see above)
  Please submit: A description of the special concept, function or other speciality of your repository, the repository's URL.

Friday:

• Workshops:
  Workshops shall give DSpace users the possibility to work together on a specific topic, e.g. how to connect to/use an external service or the demonstration/discussion of an add-on, for up to three hours. The DSpace-CRIS workshop, that took place in the past years, is a good example of that format. Of course, there will be a continuance of the DSpace-CRIS workshop in 2021.
  Please submit: Title, an abstract, a timeframe, how many users roughly you expect, and if you have any specific request like break out rooms or setup every participant should prepare. Please keep in mind that also workshops will have to be proceeded online. Contact us if you would like to consult with us beforehand.

All slides and posters should be licensed CC BY 4.0, as we plan to publish them in DSpace's wiki. While the main conference language will be German, we will accept presentations, roundtables, and workshops in English as well.

Please send your proposals by email to anwendertreffen@the-library-code.de within the deadline of March 26th, 2021.

As always, the participation will be free of charge. We will inform you when the registration is open.

Das DSpace Anwendertreffen 2021 findet am Donnerstag, den 15. April und Freitag, den 16. April 2021 als komplett virtuelles Treffen statt. Es wird von The Library Code GmbH organisiert und ausgerichtet. Ziel ist der Austausch zwischen Nutzerinnen und Nutzern von DSpace bzw. DSpace-CRIS. Auch das jährliche Treffen des DSpace Konsortiums Deutschland wird am ersten Tag (Donnerstag) stattfinden. Wir bitten um Beiträge für Formate Vorträge, Thementische und Workshops. In diesem Jahr werden wir keine Minute Madness durchführen. Wir versuchen jedoch ein neues Format zu kreieren. Wenn es in Ihrem Repositorium eine Funktion gibt, Ihr Repositorium über ein besonders Konzept verfügt oder es eine andere Besonderheit aufzuweisen hat, von der Sie denken, dass andere davon profitieren würden diese kennenzulernen, dann senden Sie uns bitte eine E-Mail (siehe unten) mit einer Beschreibung. Wir werden auf Sie mit Informationen zum neuen Format zukommen.

Donnerstag:

• Vorträge:
  Ein:e oder zwei Sprecher:innen. ca. 15 Minuten + 5 Minuten Diskussion
  Bitte reichen Sie ein: Den Namen aller Sprecher:innen, den Titel des Vortrags und eine kurze Zusammenfassung.
• Thementische:
  Raum für Diskussionen zu einem bestimmten Thema für Anwender*innen von DSpace. Voraussichtlich 30 Minuten
  Bitte reichen Sie ein: Themen, die Ihrer Meinung nach im Rahmen eines Thementisches behandelt werden sollen und ob Sie einen Thementisch moderieren können
  
• Repositorien Spezial:
  Wie oben beschrieben, möchten wir ein neues Format ausprobieren, um Besonderheiten von Repositorien zu präsentieren (siehe oben)
  Bitte reichen Sie ein: Eine Beschreibung des speziellen Konzepts, der Funktion oder anderen Besonderheit Ihres Repositoriums, die URL des Repositoriums.

Freitag:

• Workshops:
  Workshops geben DSpace Anwender:innen die Möglichkeit, bis zu drei Stunden ein spezielles Thema, zum Beispiel die Verknüpfung von DSpace mit einem speziellen Service oder die ausführliche Präsentation eines Add-ons, gemeinsam zu behandeln. Ein gutes Beispiel für dieses Format ist der Workshop zu DSpace-CRIS, der in den vergangen Jahren stattgefunden hat und auch in diesem Jahr fortgeführt wird.
  Bitte reichen Sie ein: Titel, eine Zusammenfassung, den voraussichtlichen zeitlichen Rahmen, eine grobe Anzahl der von Ihnen erwarteten Teilnehmer:innen sowie Angaben ob Sie spezielle Anforderungen für den Workshop haben, wie die Nutzung bon Break-Out-Sessions oder eine spezielle Umgebung, die alle Teilnehmer:innen vorbereiten sollen. Auch die Workshops werden ausschließlich online durchgeführt werden. Kontaktieren Sie uns bitte, falls wir Sie im Vorfeld beraten sollen.

Alle Folien und Poster sollten unter der Lizenz CC BY 4.0 stehen, da wir planen sie im Wiki von DSpace zu veröffentlichen. Auch wenn die Konferenzsprache Deutsch ist, akzeptieren wir gerne auch Vorträge, Thementische und Workshops in englischer Sprache.
