Recognizing the incredible overlap of use cases created by the Rare Materials Ontology Extension and the ARTframe groups, the two groups decided to meet in-person to build foundations for future modeling. The meeting, hosted by Columbia University Libraries at the Avery Architectural & Fine Arts Library, occurred 2017 March 02-03 and focused on four primary areas of art and rare descriptive practice: citations, notes & annotations, provenance and physical description.
Select members of both groups joined the meeting and made substantial progress to solidify work already conducted by both groups and expand into new areas of description not yet tackled by either group.
