My Docs and Drafts

About Me

Role

I'm the Technical Lead for the DSpace Project at DuraSpace. This essentially means I coordinate community participation in the open source development process, mostly by working with the DSpace Committers to plan & release new versions of DSpace software.

Other unofficial roles/activities:

Background

Before starting at DuraSpace, I was the Technology Lead for IDEALS, the digital repository for scholarship and research at the University of Illinois. Along with colleagues from University of Wisconsin-Madison and University of Illinois, I also helped develop on BibApp, an open source campus research gateway and expert finder. I've been an active Code Committer for DSpace since 2006, and received my Masters in Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois in 2005. Prior to that, I used to work for a small Chicago-based consulting firm (yes – I'm an ex-consultant!), helping Fortune 500 companies better manage their digital documents.
