To support data entry through metadata imports, DSpace-CRIS already offers a high level of interoperability with external systems and databases (see here). These include, for example, various publication databases, ORCID, Sherpa Romeo, various altmetrics and GROBID document analysis, which have also been configured for the SynSICRIS monitoring tool.
An interface to the European patent database was also implemented in SynSICRIS. Based on the application number, the patent grant (or rejection) 1-2 years later can thus still be imported after the end of the documentation obligations of the project owners.
For use within funding programmes of German federal ministries, an import of basic information from the easy-online form has been implemented. An interface to profi (the federal research system) has been prepared and allows information such as duration, budget and address data of the institutions participating in the consortium to be updated during the course of the project. Comparable interfaces can also be implemented to other funding databases if required.
