Welcome to the first ever Membership Awareness Month! We have dedicated the month of May as Membership Awareness Month in hopes that you will join us in celebrating, highlighting and showcasing our member institutions and what it means to be a Fedora member. This page will serve as an information hub for all of the communications we will be sharing so you can refer back here at any time.
What is it all about?
Fedora is an open-source, community-supported program funded entirely by membership contributions. This funding goes toward supporting staff to work on developing, teaching, engaging and supporting Fedora users across the globe. Without our members, we would not be able to support the preservation of the vital content contained within the repositories of our users.
Throughout the month we will be focusing our attention on our members and drawing attention to what it means to be a Fedora member. By highlighting member benefits, showcasing institutions and making Fedora top of mind for community members we hope to raise awareness about the importance of membership and what is possible because of it.
Contest Details
Each week we will be having a special activity that will earn you ballots toward a draw for a prize at the end of the month. There will be multiple ways to participate across multiple channels so that everyone has an opportunity to do so. Check back here each week as we list the weekly activity
Week 1 (May 3-7): Intro Week
- Newsletter Trivia - Find the link in the newsletter to answer a trivia question. (1 ballot)
- Share the Newsletter - Forward the newsletter along to someone/group of individuals who may not already get it or who may find value in learning more about Fedora. Send an email to arran.griffith@gmail.com to let me know you've done it. (1 ballot)

"Feature My Institution" Campaign
Throughout the month we will also be highlighting member institutions via our google group email lists, on Slack and on social media. This is a great opportunity to see what institutions are using Fedora as well as learning more about their installations. To have your institution featured as part of this campaign fill out this quick form to be included.
