Implementing VIVO requires careful planning of both technical (site/system administration and data curation) and non-technical (policy, management) elements. There is a standing weekly Implementation and Development Call, a public development mailing list, and a public implementation mailing list. Technical decisions will need to be made regarding establishing a VIVO site. What operating systems, hardware, tools will be used? How will system changes be managed? How will testing be done? How will security be done? Technical decisions are typically made in the context of other enterprise applications.
