DSpace 7.x is a temporary departure from this release numbering scheme.  Because DSpace 7.x involves recreating the entire User Interface, DSpace Governance chose to allow Minor Releases to include new features only in 7.x. This allowed us to release 7.0 before it included every feature of DSpace 6.x, and it means that each additional 7.x release may layer in more features until 7.x aligns with the features of 6.x.  Additional information on the 7.x release schedule & roadmap can be found at DSpace Release 7.0 Status.
