Waiting on the review and acceptance.  Because of world issues some things are still up in the Air.

    1. Statement on the War in Ukraine (template from Sigma) (Anna, 10 mins). Leadership group will vote.

Anna is bringing forward this statement and would like this statement to be visible where?
A discussion ensued where leadership talked about the merits of this.  Dragan had more of a world view of what the failings of both sides are.  Wanted to express that both sides are at fault.
Terrie, has reviewed various other statements and supports this in general and would like to do some more research in regards to Dragan's comments.
Hannah, also have viewed other statements and likes the one from IFLA.
Ann, appreciated Dragan more world view and had various comments and not specifically call out the aggressor.  In general we support the people, science.
Laurie, appreciates these type of Deep discussions.  Going to check with Lyrasis to ensure we are ok to post.
Damaris, appreciated Dragan.  Do we really need to say anything?  Want to ensure whatever we do it represents the WHOLE VIVO community.

Michele, appreciated Dragan want to emphasize not to not to condemn the people who may or may not be involved.
Bruce, making a statement and Not making a statement are both making a statement.

Various talks about what tweaks we can do to the existing statement to encompass the above thoughts.

Dragan, Anna, Bruce are going to review and send another version forward.

"We would like to express our solidarity with the people of Ukraine and we condemn Russia's military aggression against this country. As part of an international community that promotes Open Access and the free and global access to information, we cannot remain indifferent to this attack on the rights and freedoms of the people of Ukraine, which has consequences for the rest of the world.

DSpace we have been reviewing and adopting a Conflict-of-Interest policy for members of DSpace Governance.  As we always like to share “lessons learned” across programs, I wanted to share this with you in case there is interest in doing something similar for VIVO.

Dspace noticed they do not have an official conflict of interest policy.  They are going to go ahead and do that.  In that regards does VIVO want to have such policies.  Historically we have relied on people self regulating.

General consensus is we should go ahead and draft on since you never know when you need it.  But when you need it you need it.
Bruce motioned, Terrie second 7 were for.  zero against Laurie Arp will proceed with drafting the COI

    1. Ontology group update. Ontology group attend LG before EuroCris (Christian, 15 mins)
due to time change he was unable to attend. postponed.

    2. Discuss whether we should vote to endorse plans of ? VIVO Task Forces/Groups (Bruce, 15 mins)  Vote on how to do this.

Bruce would like to invite various groups to present at leadership group.  What would this look like?  If it happens how would we endorse what they are doing?
In general this sounds like a good idea.

ideas:
Possible get a brief from groups on what they are working towards?  Ask groups what type of feedback would they like from the LG?
Continue circular / round robin meetings with groups to ensure they continue to provide info to LG and an opportunity for LG to chat with them.
