      • 2021-01-08 Part of 15 D&A sprint that starts next week. Tim will first work on getting the spring has started, Tim has moved Discogs code into the D&A repo. Hope to demo to the user reps next Thursday. Greg also involved with moving the Blacklight servers to AWS, want to complete this with classes out of sessioncodebase. Has removed call via QA to go directly to Discogs. Now in integration environment. Need to sort out ack/disclaimer with user rep feedback, perhaps technical information link
  •  Strand 2: research: how to go from knowledge graph to an index
    • Research decision points, Use cases 
    • First goal: DASH! dashboard (full page for entity) that extends on the idea of an embedded knowledge panel, aim to have functional prototype for end of year

      • 2021-01-08 Huda has worked on DCP connection, Tim has been working on agents leveraging past work on knowledge panels to pull in LC data. Will move some calls into the server side. Greg has worked on moving Solr instances from original location into Solr cloud which will allow to retirement of a VM with EOL OS
      • 2021-01-15 Demo from Huda
        • Will spend next week finishing up prototype (add show all on timeline, etc.)
        • Question of whether it is best to have "details" link to follow broader/narrower, or just link the label. Question of distinguishing search (usual BL link) or go to entity
        • Comparing page for "Biology" in current interface and demo we see issue with handling large numbers or narrower terms (need "more" or similar), and also would be good to include "works about #" for each term
        • Huda brainstorming how to test: DOCUMENT LINK
        • What is this page called from a user perspective? Perhaps "subject page", "entity page" (maybe user doesn't know of entities), "bobble head" (because you put it on your dashboard)

Linked-Data Authority Support (WP2)

  • Qa Sinopia Collaboration – Support and evolve QA+cache instance for use with QA

      • Stanford off this week but have a conversation with Dave in regard to containerization work. Dave continues to work through issues
      • Steven went through the github board to look at everything that wasn't a data connection issue and provide advice where possible
      • We note LC announcement of more frequent updates
      • Not sure when next Stanford work on Sinopia will start
      • Lynette/Dave/Steven will review project board to decide next stepsThere is a known issue in Sinopia where a user creates an entity for a URI but bad RDF is created – discussed with PCC and hopes to prioritize. Lynette notes that QA has a way to do a cache-bypass fetch for a particular URI
  •  Cache Containerization Plan - Develop a sustainable solution that others can deploy

      • Work went well. DB containerized in same way as local config. MariaDB image loaded into container
      • Working with Lynette, Greg set up some static volumes needed for use. Have found a way to use s3 buckets to manage data that users will have to update as authority files change
      • Have JSON version of task definition for AWS. Adopters will have to edit this to configure a new deployment
      • Have partial CloudFormation template to provision infrastructure if using AWS (Sinopia uses Terraform)
      • Will continue this work, finish CloudFormation template and set up CI/CD environment. Then will need to share with community and get feedback (currently just set up on VPN) – have planned to have Stanford & Dave try replicating first

      • Greg's work now in main branch. Lynette has updated README documentation for running on localhost
      • Still need to document on AWS
      • Then test on generic linux box
      • Then hand off to Dave and Stanford to test setting it up
      • Later need to work out and document a production deployment (w. restart etc.) and try to get feedback from community
      2021-01-08 - Greg has containerized version of QA on AWS. Have CloudFormation template allowing others to do this. Next major task will be to write documentation to use application
  • Search API Best Practices for Authoritative Data working group 
    • 20202021-12-18 see above01-15 E. Lynette Rayle finish up user stories document Supporting cataloger inclusion of external authoritative data in early January then consider possible new charter for the group
      • Steven sending out survey results to PCC (before lunch/run today)
      • Lynette has requested feedback on user stories document by Jan 20, last meeting of current group on Jan 25
      • Will consider new charter on Jan 25

    • Lynette is signed up to be a beta tester for github. Target for public release is end January
