Notes:
Bitstream format registry demonstration by Kent:
- what you put in the Description matters! Kent also recommends including the file format extension
- demonstrated selecting Profile Bitstream Formats task on the System Curation Tasks screen; select handle for whichever Community or Collection you wish to profile
- click "Retrieve Process Output" on the processes screen; this will provide you a text file within that same screen - breakdown of number of Items with that format and the format description
- copy and paste the text into a text editor
- if you want to convert to a spreadsheet format, need to add a delimiter, or separator - you can use a regular expression to find and replace a pattern with, for example, the | character, in order to make sure the data will convert with appropriate columns
- OpenRefine can also help with converting TXT to CSV: https://openrefine.org/docs/manual/starting
