Call for updates from VIVO implementers: how's it going?

We’d like each NA VIVO site to give us an update either as a 5-minute lightning talk or a 20-minute presentation. Lightning talks might touch on any of these topics:

  • What are the primary use cases and goals of VIVO at your institution?

  • How’s adoption going, by both profile owners and site visitors?

  • What works well for users, and what are they asking for?

Longer, 20-minute presentations might include the following:

  • A tour of your VIVO site

  • Demo of new functionality or data

  • Challenges to VIVO at your institution due to shifting resources or other issues

A conversation with the VIVO Project

For over a decade, the VIVO community has been vibrant, creative, and devoted to helping each other and sustaining VIVO. We believe in open source, open science, and open data.

This meeting will give you a chance to talk directly to leaders about the direction of the VIVO Project. Our community is strong and growing, but like many open source communities, we’re struggling too. To face what’s ahead, we need your ideas, energy, and contributions of all kinds.

Spanish-language user event in the works

The VIVO Project is also planning an event for Spanish users in Europe, Central America, and South America to be held in early 2021. Please contact the VIVO Membership and Community Engagement Interest Group if you’d like to help with this event, or if you’d like to propose additional regional or language-based VIVO user groups.
