Updates
Brown (Ted)
working with publications from med school CVs and developing process for finding new publications
Colorado (Alex)
Working on 1.6 upgrade
Meetings with INSTAAR and LASP research institutes about curating their researcher’s publications, to help with historical curation effort in Elements
Starting ORCID project to create ORCID iDs for CU-Boulder faculty and researchers
Cornell (Jon, Huda, Jim, Tim, Brian…)
preparing to update Cornell VIVO to 1.6
Duke (Sheri, Richard)
Looking at geographical focus (more specific data -- expertise, whether they are doing research or training?) -- Cornell has had some discussions about contextualizing research area (“someone has expertise in China based on having taught there”) -- maybe consider a Context node which requires some work in ontology/code? Good topic for an ontology call.
Florida
Chris mentioned Mike might attend future Apps and Tools call to share new Python-based tools for CV generation
Memorial (John, Max)
Full team is back in the office -- workshopping around user stories and wireframes for project with Miles and his team (meeting tomorrow)
Question: Progress of upgrading Harvester to 1.6?
Stephen reports via Alex that the Harvester Java code is not specific to either 1.5 or 1.6, but the configuration files for each particular ingest action will need to be modified
Due to his new position, he will be working with other Harvester users to identify a new maintainer for the Harvester, but expects to be able to help in that transition
This might be an opportunity to build a team of supporters for the Harvester again, which has not been the case since the NIH grant, so the load is not all on one person -- also how Harvester can fit in with other tools like Python-based scripts
RPI (Patrick)
looking at single sign-on for Drupal and VIVO, the automated creation of policies from Drupal in VIVO, and additional visualizations
will be attending the Duke Hackathon and Implementation Fest
Stony Brook (Tammy)
uploading the data that just converted to RDF -- new data for Stony Brook Medicine conforming to the 1.6 ontology
figuring out how to automate the data update with CURL, locking in so you hit the page for update with CURL, enter your username and password, and continues the upload
UCSF (Eric)
Working on external co-author linking (PubMed ID) and data retrieval (USC), Boston University had a nice site map, grabbing Stanford’s data today -- wants to pull in VIVO data but would like a good site map to get a list of all the people (Jon: Go to VIVO 1.5 or newer index pages and can then follow the RDF link for all faculty URIs…)
Example of UCSF profile with external BU links: http://stage-profiles.ucsf.edu/profiles200/deborah.grady
Weill Cornell (Drew)
- Preparing for public VIVO release and looking at performance
Notable list traffic
order of menus – Tim suggests a workaround in 1.6
Installation instructions - Jim restructuring the VIVO installation instructions and the upgrade guide
See the vivo-dev-all archive and vivo-imp-issues archive for complete email threads
