Change Unix Passwords

Change root password
passwd
YOUR_NEW_ROOT_SYS_PASSWORD

passwd -u vitro
YOUR_NEW_VITRO_SYS_PASSWORD

Change MySQL Passwords

mysql -u root -p'vitro123';
use mysql;
SET PASSWORD FOR 'vitroweb'@'vitro' = PASSWORD('YOUR_NEW_MSYQL_VITRO_PASSWORD');
SET PASSWORD FOR 'root'@'localhost' = PASSWORD('YOUR_NEW_MSYQL_PASSWORD');
SET PASSWORD FOR 'root'@'vitro' = PASSWORD('YOUR_NEW_MSYQL_PASSWORD');
SET PASSWORD FOR 'root'@'127.0.0.1' = PASSWORD('YOUR_NEW_MSYQL_PASSWORD');

Change Tomcat Password

nano /usr/local/tomcat/conf/tomcat-users.xml

Change
<user username="vitro" password="vitro123" roles="admin,manager"/>

To
<user username="vitro" password="YOUR_NEW_TOMCAT_PASSWORD" roles="admin,manager"/>

Restart tomcat
/etc/init.d/tomcat restart

Change Application Settings

Edit VIVO MySQL connection string
nano /usr/local/vivo/deploy.properties
Change
VitroConnection.DataSource.password = vitro123

To
VitroConnection.DataSource.password = YOUR_NEW_MSYQL_PASSWORD

Deploy vivo and start tomcat
cd /usr/local/vivo
/etc/init.d/tomcat stop
ant deploy
/etc/init.d/tomcat start

Change VIVO System Admin Password

Login to the VIVO web application
http://your.vivo.installation:8080/vivo
Username: defaultAdmin
Password: vitro123 (Or the new password you have been using)

Click "User Accounts" link
Click "defaultAdmin" link
Click "Reset Password" button
Password: YOUR_NEW_DEFAULTADMIN_PASSWORD
Confirm Password: YOUR_NEW_DEFAULTADMIN_PASSWORD

Click "Submit Changes" button

Patch Software Packages

apt-get update
apt-get upgrade
