Dear PCC colleagues, 

This is the second in a series of quarterly updates from the PCC Chair for this fiscal year. The Chair will provide news and updates at the end of each quarter: November/December, February/March, May, and August.

Here are some highlights of what has been happening over the last three months:

Programs

    1. The Task Group Consultation Group for Library Systems and Vendor has transitioned into an Advisory Group for Library Systems and Vendors, reflecting the increasing need for communication and collaboration with library systems and vendors. 
    2. The Standing Committee on Membership and Programing held its kickoff meeting on February 18, 2025, and is already planning the March NACO forum and the At Large Virtual Conference in April. Further details will be shared once available.
    3. Entity Management Cooperative (EMCO) launched its Early Adopters Phase (EAP) on February 18, 2025. 
    4. PoCo approved the SCT Assessment Task Group for Training and Mentorship Program. The group’s charges and membership will be available soon. 


Reports and Policies

    1. The Task Group for URIs in MARC Implementation and Support issued an Interim Report.
    2. The RDA Implementation Task Group submitted proposals on changes to Description Convention Source Codes and fictitious and non-human entities, which were approved by PoCo..

    1. SACO Virtual Forum (December 5, 2024) - 150 attendees
    2. BIBCO Virtual Forum (January 16, 2025) - 220 attendees 
    3. PCC Participants Meeting (February 13, 2025) - 265 attendees
    4. Upcoming ALA 2025: PCC will host two events at ALA 2025 in Philadelphia. Further details will be shared once available.


Others

    1. EDIBA has restructured its Wiki page on Land Acknowledgement and Indigenous Metadata Resources, now organizing content into two separate pages: 
      1. Indigenous Metadata Resources 
      2. Land Acknowledgement Resources
    2. PoCo Election is coming soon. Please cast your vote when the election opens.
