Ticket Summaries
Please squash a bug!
Tickets resolved this week:
Tickets created this week:
Minutes
Update from OR
- Aaron Birkland won in the ideas challenge with an idea relating to API-X
- David Wilcox was happy to see movement in the community towards the Linked Data and other key Fedora components
Closed Tickets
- thanks Bethany Seeger for taking care of the mime type ticket, are the other related tickets resolved?
- 2262 and 2516 should be resolved by the fix; 2420 which might have been resolved earlier
- Andrew Woods will verify that these are indeed resolved
4.7.4 Release Planning
- Thanks Danny Bernstein for creating release candidate branch
- Andrew Woods would like to walk through cherry-picked commits and tickets to be clear on which tickets will be included
- The 4.7.4 release should be good to go (for testing to begin)
- will need a release testing page
- a release candidate
- hope to get a message out next week to kick off testing
Deprecating RBACL and XACML modules
- given no champion has come forward for those modules, they should be marked as deprecated in 4.7.4 so that in the next major release they may cease to exist
- Andrew Woods will create a ticket and it must be completed before 4.7.4 release candidate
Import/Export release
- 2459 import or versions might not get done, can we make it not a blocker?
- 2518 is ready for review
- Michael Durbin will follow up about the status of 2459
- verification tool is close and should work
- get import/export released ASAP
- make sure verification tool still works against released code, then release it
- ask for feedback on both
Fedora alignment to API sprint planning
- first final draft of the fedora spec was released
- forthcoming announcement about a sprint on Sept 11-22
- generously coordinated and run by Johns Hopkins and Aaron Birkland
- will require time beforehand to define tickets, priorities, etc.
- time allocated following that for a second sprint
- Los Alamos Memento folks are interested and might even provide resources to the versioning part of this effort
OAuth for Fedora?
- motivated by work with CoS OSF at Johns Hopkins
- developing a "fedora provider" to allow content to be read and written into Fedora by OSF
- Daniel Lamb asked to clarify that fedora would consume OAauth tokens from big name sources like google and such
- yes, basic auth is terrible authenticating through a well-used authentication provider using OAuth would make things cleaner and easier
- want to look at what Claw is doing (beyond basic auth)
- Claw uses a Valve in tomcat (container-based, outside of fedora)
- APIX wasn't an option then, but might make more sense for folks using alternate deployment (or implementation) of Fedora
- want to "put fedora on the internet" (a sadly unusual case these days)
- in the early stages, much investigation remains
