  • Post-call decision via email to make one announcement focused around 4.0, with the 3.8 being a note within that communication.

F2F Agenda

  • Discussion of proposed agenda.
  • Suggestion to flesh out the Training section: What's been done; Proposals for new training.
  • Two new agenda items proposed: standing v. interest/working groups and f2f schedule planning for 2015.  Robin has updated agenda.
  • Clarification on charter: The idea is to concretize and be more explicit about staffing, relationship to DuraSpace, and registered service providers.
  • Quick overview of membership and voting: leadership group:
    • Certain thresholds ensure spot: $20K or 0.5 FTE commitment.
    • Nominations are closed
    • Nominees are being contacted to ensure interest and local support.
    • Voting opens to community liaisons Dec 8, 2014
    • Voting closes Dec 19, 2014

4.0 Panel at CNI

  • David facilitates. Declan, Stefano, Tom are panelists.
    1. Overview of 4
    2. Beta reports from each panelist
    3. Q and A
  • Would be nice to have good representation from leaders.

4.1 Beta Pilots

  • Seeking institutions for first half of 2015
  • Focus on migration from 3->4
  • Good outcomes would include: tools, documentation, and best practices; issues uncovered to plow back into 4
  • Jon Dunn references potential for NEH funded Hydradam.  Would start in Jan.  Would need support from Fedora 4 developer team.

Jan-June Planning

  • Focus on 6 month release to 4.1
  • Would be nice to have periodic (monthly) point releases: e.g. 4.0.1
  • Three areas of focus
    • Use migration from 3->4 to focus development.
    • Use 4.0 feedback to identify/resolve issues
    • Build and the develop around a prioritized list of high priority features (a short list from earlier planning)
  • Discussion of desirability to encourage and monitor efforts to migrate Hydra and Islandora to 4.0.x.  Expectation that this work would focus mostly on those projects, not Fedora 4 per se. However, issues uncovered as part of these migrations can also drive Jan-June development work.
