Minutes

Going Live - Status

  • November is earliest we could go live
  • We have 40% of the acceptance tests completed; we will not complete all tests at the current rate
  • One possibility: take features out of the code base if it they are not validated as a use case
    • problem:  This could require a lot more testing
  • More likely scenario is that we will delay the release
  • We should highlight the un-validated use cases to give them more visibility, hope we'll get volunteers
  • We could dedicate more sprint time to to acceptance testing
  • Some tests fall into neat groups and may be easily tested together
  • We will let people know that tests must be completed by end of October if we are to have a release this year

Fedora 4 Training

  • Can we pay a trainer writers to create a Fedora 4 curriculum for us?
  • We are close to our funding goal for the year; we probably could allocate 6-7k for curriculum development
  • Curriculum should be portable so we can train trainers to use it anywhere
  • We will develop a proposal to do this training and circulate to Leadership - David will do a draft, would like some input from us
  • We can try to tap Hydra/Islandora people to do this work

Status of Technical Working Group

  • Group has been doing assessment of the beta in time for the 4.0 release, will do other work that goes beyond the release
  • We need feedback from participants in this group to better understand status

Other

  • ModeShape is licensed as Apache 2.0
  • IIA is on the verge of becoming a DuraSpace Registered Service Provider

Actions

  • Send Acceptance Test email to list (grouping tests by feature) and make clear the need to complete 100% of tests by the end of October or the 4.0 release will be delayed until next year David Wilcox
  • Contact specific institutions about acceptance tests for features they are interested in and ask them to complete the tests David Wilcox
  • Draft proposal for training and curriculum development (with clear timelines) in time for the next call David Wilcox
