Where to focus

• Funders and customers both have needs
• How do we introduce the notions (like metadata capture) that benefits preservation over time?
• Over time, need to enable: capture, backup, find, use, visualize
• This year (to demonstrate to funders)

To do this year

• Have UpSync capture: user, dates, execution env, directory structure
• Have OCS determine: file type (get the easy stuff)
• Turn on SiDora search engine, index key-value metadata
• Have a datastream on each object that stores the DfR key-value metadata values
• Styling on SiDora to look like DuraCloud

What we are NOT doing (this year)

• DfR-specific account management (DfR management console)
• More complex OCS pipeline
• Versioning
• DownSync
• Encryption
• Shib integration
• OS specific installer for UpSync
