Once a library's collection integrations have been created and the ingest process has begun or completed, you can request that a library be included in NYPL's beta test program. NYPL assigns libraries a beta version of the SimplyE mobile app for testing on iOS and Android platforms. Once the beta apps are built with the library's catalog feed, you can provide links to library staff for testing.

Likewise, when a library is ready for production use by library users, you can request NYPL to add the library to the production SimplyE app. You will be notified when the next version of the mainline apps are built and accessible by end users in the Apple Store and the Google's Play Store.

To request inclusion for a library in the next beta build, follow these steps.

Step-by-step guide

  1. Send a direct message in the Library Simplified Slack channel to @leonardr and @risa with the following information:
    1. The URL of the library's OPDS catalog feed–the Circulation Manager's URL with the library's shortname; e.g., http://simplye.org-name.com/FLABCL
    2. The barcode/user_id and PIN/password for the library's "good" test user
    3. Potentially, library customization information:
      1. library's logo
      2. color choice
  2. When the Test Flight mobile applications are updated and tested, NYPL staff will respond back with links to/copies of the test applications.
