Digital rights management (DRM) software is a set of access control technologies for restricting the use of copyrighted works and resources in SimplyE. DRM technologies control the use, modification, and distribution of copyrighted works (such as e-book and audio-book content.)

- Adobe Adept DRM - EPUB and Adobe PDF
- Licensed Content Protection (LCP) - Readium Web Publication Manifest (RWPM) and its associated profiles
- Findaway - Audibooks distributed by Findaway on behalf of Axis 360 and Bibliotheca
- Overdrive Audiobooks - Audiobooks from Overdrive
- RB Digital Audiobooks - Audiobooks from RB Digital (soon to be merged and distributed with Overdrive Audiobooks)
- DPLA Audiobooks - Audibooks distributed by DPLA Exchange and Feedbooks/DeMarque (soon to be replaced with LCP for Audiobook RWPM Profile)
- Access Control - Time limited signed URLs
