Scenario

Test 4 uses POST requests to create as many empty containers as possible before hitting a failure condition.

Setups

Test 4 has been performed by four different institutions across the following Fedora releases:

• 4.5.0 Release
• 4.5.1-SNAPSHOT, build #b73f270   (2016-01-21)
• 4.5.1-SNAPSHOT | Build #fd6f9da9 (2016-02-19) — using both LevelDB and PostgreSQL
• 4.5.1 Release
• 4.5.2-SNAPSHOT | Build #c94f9a93 (2016-06-06) (modeshape5 branch using PostgreSQL)

All tests used the default LevelDB object store unless otherwise noted.

Results Summary

LevelDB

Number of Containers Created

• 737,824 (rate: 38.1 containers/sec) - Failure condition reached
• 9,153,862 (26.5 containers/sec) - Failure condition reached (2,428,064), restarted and continued until intentionally terminated by tester
• 13,530,463 (rate: 31.7 containers/sec) - No failure reached. Intentionally terminated by tester

PostgreSQL

Number of Containers Created

• 3,751,531 (rate: 19.7 containers/sec) - Inadvertently terminated by network interruption
• 17,017,228 (rate: 30.1 containers/sec) - ModeShape5 branch, Failure condition reached.
