Tracey is member of MLA linked data working group. They have a list of project ideas for linked data in music. Will use wikidata: Popular one is thematic catalogs for composers:
Thematic catalogs are the (e.g. the K numbers for Mozart are the Köchel catalog, but this have been refined many time). Idea is to make concordance between such catalogs. Vivaldi has similar and wikidata is short on Vivaldi data. Idea is to build concordance
Beth Kelley is not part of MLA group but would be very interested in participating
We already linked to wikidata for author in 1xx and also NAF, but not for works
User experience?
Even without this project we could link from composer out to authority record
Could, like for author, have info box for the work
How is this done now? Currently in 1xx with possible also in 4xx
E.g. for Mozart, list all versions of Koechel number, NAF,
Information is obviously useful as display information but would also be useful as search information. This might be a case where information from wikidata might want to be added to the index. For some composers (e/g/ Mozart) the catalog number if added in the uniform title.
Expected timeline? MLA group is informal working group, haven't talked about process for concordance but might like to have something to show for March meeting
Next steps:
Jason can coordinate Beth working on this project, Tracey would likely participate as well
Huda suggests exploration of use cases for this additional data
Search by an alternate K number and still find work with information
Versions of same work
Extra data (by hover or display) that helps user know that they have specific item
Tracey will reach back out
Another idea is about names (not works) associated with experimental works
Various composers have entries in LCNAF, in VIAF, in MusicBranz and in Wikidata
Idea would be to use wikidata more, instead of the name authority file
Other ideas
Large collections are often cataloged with limited
Steven asked Dave to meet next week to go over remaining Authority request issues, https://github.com/LD4P/qa_server/projects/1 (which has be prioritized based on "important" authorities and ease of completion)

2022-06-03 Lucene index server working on AWS, had a good experience building with Terraform. Dave confirmed data good. Will reach out to Dave next week to talk about how to move forward. Current process for getting a new index up is to put is in S3 and when container starts up it copies this from S3
