  • Story: Objects can be associated with a descriptive metadata service. This service can describe its own API for updates, and be able to export a description in transportable format (XML). In Fedora 3.x, this work is accomplished by maintenance of associated XML datastreams.  This is subject to collision problems when multiple editors work on the same descriptions, and makes it difficult to perform common updates to large groups of descriptions.

    This feature is not currently on the Fedora 4.0 roadmap, but it will be scheduled for a future 4.x release.
