Contribute to the DSpace Development Fund

The newly established DSpace Development Fund supports the development of new features prioritized by DSpace Governance. For a list of planned features see the fund wiki page.

The DSpace Community held 3 webinars in Nov 2022: "Using DSpace 7.4", "Upgrading to DSpace 7.4", and "Developing on DSpace 7.4". We had 3000+ registrations and over 1400 DSpace members and users attended the live sessions. 

Questions were answered live and also gathered in a public Q&A document (see PDF download below).  All answers were gathered into that same document.

Session 1: Using DSpace 7.4

  • Intended Audience: Anyone who uses DSpace at their institution

  • Description: Whether you use DSpace already, or are thinking about using it in the future, this workshop will help guide you through common activities in DSpace. We will demonstrate both new and redesigned features of the DSpace 7 user interface.

Session 2: Upgrading to DSpace 7.4

  • Intended Audience: Anyone who is planning an upgrade 

  • Description: Planning an upgrade to DSpace 7 in the future? This workshop will guide you through the upgrade process, providing hints to help simplify your upgrade. We will provide tips for updating older DSpace configurations for DSpace 7.

Session 3: Developing on DSpace 7.4

  • Date: Thursday, Nov 17 at 15:00UTC-16:30UTC (10:00am EST-11:30am EST) 

  • Presenters: Art Lowel (Atmire) and Andrea Bollini (4Science) 

  • Intended Audience: Anyone who wants to do development on DSpace 7 

  • Description: As you plan your upgrade, or after your upgrade, you may need some tips on customizing DSpace 7 to better meet your needs. This workshop will train you in basic User Interface customization, to allow you more control over your branding. We will also provide tips on using the REST API to access your data in DSpace.
