Membership:
- Would like to see what would happen if we stopped membership entirely
- “Membership” terminology is part of the problem
- Think of how we will speak about it for Fedora
- “Sponsorship”
- Membership not working for all reasons listed in Weaknesses section
- Changing “Membership” title to “Direct Funding from Using Institutions”
RSP:
- There are also consultants (such as AVP) who will recommend, build Fedora (or Samvera, or Islandora containing Fedora) into their solutions
- Vendors and Service Providers in other communities are ditching Fedora because they aren’t trained in the digital preservation piece
- Parking Lot Note: How can we take advantage of other communities using Fedora who aren’t currently advocating for keeping us
- There seems to be an education piece missing here surrounding digital preservation importance
Soft Funds:
- Mostly concerned with Grants in this category
- Do not want to discount Grants as potential funding opportunities for specific actions but will not actively pursue grant funded ideas as part of this working group.
