Attendees: Steven, Jason, Greg, Simeon

Regrets:

Discovery (WP3)

  • BAM! WOW! (Browsing Across Music With Obtainable Wikidata)
    • 2023-10-19
      • Attended the Discovery Affinity Group session on PHAROS. Similar to LUX, aggregates data/images from various sources. Found OAI-PMH the easiest to work with, able to get updates easily.

Linked-Data Authority Support (WP2)

  • Qa Sinopia Collaboration - Meetings with Stanford will only occur on an as needed basis. Authority request issues: https://github.com/LD4P/qa_server/projects/1 (prioritized based on "important" authorities and ease of completion)
    • Two sprints: 1st Sprint - 9/25-10/6 / 2nd Sprint - 10/30-11/10
    • 2023-09-28

      • Christina is getting into the code to figure out what’s available in the Samvera Gem for LC direct lookups. Apparently as written, it pulls in the label and an identifier, rather than a URI. Rather than override that in the gem, she’s going to build off of our direct lookup already in our instance of QA.

      • Set up stand-up for the duration of the Sprint to make sure we keep focus
      • Steven has set up a test template in Sinopia for new lookups when ready
    • 2023-09-28
      • Steven added new lookup configs to Sinopia, with label “TEST (DO NOT USE YET). Waiting for them to be pushed to production to test.
    • 2023-10-19
      • First sprint completed. Matt and Christina quickly got to understand it
      • Christina added homosaurus and Getty vocabs. She used Getty SPARQL endpoint and got good results, have baseline lookups for ATT, ULAN and TGN, think we can improve these searches with more sophisticated queries. Homosaurus was easy, Christina quickly learned the API and we note considerable editorial work which means a live search
      • Matt focused on updating Ruby including thinking about the various dependencies
      • Steven created configs in
  • Best Practices for Authoritative Data working group (focus on Change Management)
    • 2023-09-28
      • Much activity on tidying
    • 2023-10-19
      • Mostly discussed section 6 on consuming activity streams (immutable vs. mutable, ascending vs. descending), leaning toward abstract description with pointers to LOC and Getty as examples. Also need to add language saying at this time neither fully comply. (And ask them each whether they'd make changes to comply)

Shared Cataloging Explorations

  • SWIB workshop write-up
    • Simeon to take a pass at a write-up
  • DCMI presentation with Stanford

Other Topics

  • POD & SHARE-VDE... should this team interact with that re: use cases, data analysis or other?
    • 2023-09-28 - Jim reached out with a bunch of questions recently - suggested he reach out to Cassalini. Seems work has not yet started
  • FAST at CUL
    • 2023-09-28 - position paper drafted/ready; not yet shared administratively
    • 2023-10-19 - CUL Authorities in FOLIO Working Group in contact with product owner about getting $0s for FAST in exports and reports for nic/nacs. Many nic/nacs have been replaced with established FAST>
  • BIBFRAME Interoperability Group (BIG) - Steven Cornell rep
    • 2023-09-28 Steven is facilitating the SHACL DC TAPS WG, and thinking about workflows for the use of SHACL. Another group working on requirements with a focus on monographs. Another group working on PCC profiles spreadsheet for DC TAP, intention is that it stay human readable yet be translatable to SHACL. There is a prototype SHACL validator in Sinopia
