Current activities of the LD4P partners as of February, 2017 Analysis and ModelingAt the end of 2016 the group, together with LD4L-Labs, completed many months of intense ontology work, evaluating BIBFRAME and developing recommendations for implementing and extending BIBFRAME. We are documenting the decisions that came out of the modeling effort, including application profiles and mappings; these outputs will be shared with the community in coming months. The domain-specific ontology extension subgroups have been working on gathering requirements and use cases, evaluating existing ontologies and vocabularies, modeling extensions, and developing application profiles. Tool evaluation is underway, and we’ve started a Tool Registry. We are working closely with LD4L-Labs to define requirements for and provide feedback on a MARC-to-linked-data converter and on the VitroLib linked data editing tool. LD4P members have been speaking at several conferences in the library and semantic web world. In April of this year we will hold an invitational conference at Stanford University to present current work and discuss future directions.
