    • 2022-12-0715 (no change since last week)
      • Draft for lessons learned - Steven added additional thoughts on 2022-12-07, unless Huda has more to add, this is complete.

      • Would be good to get this wrapped up next week
  • BAM! WOW! (Browsing Across Music With Obtainable Wikidata)
    • 2022-12-01
      • Discussed with Melissa and Frances
        • Can reuse discogs pattern for items that have one author/title facet value work
        • Thinking about + or info button next to included works for items that have them, don't try to bring info in at the item level (a minority of collection, not super rare though - common for collections of music or literary works)
      • Will ask Tracey to send out recruitment email on Monday for graduate student testers (looking for up to 5 people), hope to do tests late in week of Dec 12
      15
      • Huda working to refine "work info" additions and author pages, tweaking labels etc.. Good examples for Vivaldi works where Tracey's group is adding information
      • Have tests starting on Monday, 2 people. Might have others the first week of January
      • Will review tasks with Steven tomorrow
      2022-12-07
      • Have added "Work info" button next to specific works in case of multiple included works. Still need to work on the author-title page
      • Tracey sent examples where they have been adding wikidata info for Vivaldi works
      • Expect to complete this by end of next week or beginning of next week
      • Currently recruiting participants for the last week before winter break (2 so far)

Linked-Data Authority Support (WP2)

  • Qa Sinopia Collaboration - Meetings with Stanford will only occur on an as needed basis. Authority request issues: https://github.com/LD4P/qa_server/projects/1 (prioritized based on "important" authorities and ease of completion) 2022-11-17Countries have been pushed to production
    • ACTION ITEM: Steven to spend time thinking about how to minimize QA footprint/commitments for lookups needed by the Sinopia/PCC Users. What lookups should use the QA direct option? What lookups should use data provider APIs? (LOC data). What lookups aren't currently being used in Sinopia. How do we think about stale caches?
    • 2022-12-07
      • Steven is still working on plan to use non-cached lookups. Struggling a little to get a list of just the PCC template lookups.
      • Trying to wade through MESH related issues.
        • Was asked about possibly renewing the cache in January when the 2023 update is available. Trying to encourage direct API usage. E.g. https://id.nlm.nih.gov/mesh/swagger/ui
        • Made pull request in Sinopia for MESH subauths already in QA but not yet available in Sinopia.
    • 2022-12-15
      • Steven (with help from Justin L.) able to identify PCC Template lookups
        • Completed a table including the lookup, LC's API if applicable, QA Direct Lookup if available, how often the data changes, and other thoughts when there was a unique issue with a lookup.
        • Wondering if next step is to try to identify highly used templates (not limited to PCC) so that we can better understand the demand for lookups. Decision yes.
        • TODO
          • Add a section for non-PCC lookups that are highly used.
          • Add approximate size of each dataset.
  • Best Practices for Authoritative Data working group (focus on Change Management)
    • 2022-12-07 Working through issues of order types of change.
      • Re: order, we are being less opinionated about direction, but ask data producers to choose one direct and stick with it.
      • Re: types of changes, trying to decide whether to take minimal
      15
      • Need some wordsmithing on order recommendation
      • Steven will work on discussion about dates
  • Containerizing the QaServer - Initial work done, still exploring migration from CloudFormation to Terraform
    • 2022-0812-04 Greg digging in to terraform as a potential replacement for cloudformation, not ready to move yet!2022-09-15 Still exploring, have only tried baby steps so far. Need to focus on current system first15 Greg imagines change from CloudFormation to Terraform provisioning would be the next step if we want to move forward with this. We have no problem running QAServer on CloudFormation in its current state. Not clear how much of the rough edges would be cleaned up by moving to Terraform, might take a coupe of work-weeks to complete. DECISION - Won't plan to move to Terraform now
  • Containerizing the Cache Indices
    • 2022-11-17 No recent progressplan to move on this at present

Other Topics

  • POD & SHARE-VDE... should this team interact with that re: use cases, data analysis or other?
    • 2022-11-17: started working on use cases for the assessment since POD does not seem to have any actionable use cases – just interest areas.
  • Sinolio - Sinopia-FOLIO
    • Possibly next work cycle toward end 2022; with LC now in FOLIO-land; how will MARVA be integrated?
    • 2022-10-27 - No news on possible work cycle
  • Entity Management in FOLIO
    • 2022-12-07 - Continuing work on use case deep dive + environmental scan
  • CUL Authorities in FOLIO
    • 2022-11-17 Still planning how to add URIs to MARC, strategizing automated changes to bibs (e.g. closing dates) that are automatable, will accelerate getting through the backlog and inform adding URIs process.
    • 2022-12-07 Piloting adding URIs for firm orders using MARCEdit and batch processing during authority maintenance processes. If successful, will expand to other workflows (including documentation and reflecting in procedures)
  • BIBFRAME Interoperability Group (BIG) - Steven Cornell rep and Jason alternate
    • 2022-10-27: They are joining for summit. Little to report at present otherwise.
