The determination of appropriate projects is a collaborative effort between those community members (preferably developers) and students (preferably computer science students or adepts). We highly recommend that prospective students join the appropriate IRC channel and mailing lists and discuss project ideas with the community prior to submitting a proposal. See the GSOC GSoC Information page (in "GSOC GSoC Project Available" section above) for a given DuraSpace technology for links to that technology's IRC channel(s) and mailing list(s).
