      • DuraCloud build with Java 17 failed with a similar error as reported in the ticket, so hopefully resolving that issue resolves the problem.
      • Will need to build at least the SyncTool and RetrievalTool with Java 17 if that's easier to get working than the entire system.
      • Will need to determine the build plan prior to release actions. If we're building the whole system with 17, we'll need to do all of our testing with 17 as well.

Day 2 (Tuesday, 2021-11-09)

    • More testing on PR done
    • Moved on to DURACLOUD-1298. Testing fix for that now. Seems like just a casting issue was causing the storage report.
    • Should be free today to look at PR comments and review

    • Fixed tests this morning for DURACLOUD-1279. Looking to submit this shortly.
      • Looking for a javascript function to verify that storage provider is snapshot

    • Had to bump dependencies, running into issues with the Selenium tests. Will build without Selenium.

  • Building DuraCloud on Dev - test failure on SwiftStorageProvider (unit test). Andy to give this a look.

Day 3 (Wednesday, 2021-11-10)

    • Verifying Nick's PR
    • Planning to deploy the mill on dev to ensure it works properly
    • Waiting on PR for MySQL 8 to be merged
    • 1277 will be set aside for now

    • Testing MySQL 8, but running into an error. 
      • The .platform file needs to be in the release zip
      • Works fine on DuraCloud 7.0, but not on the current branch
      • Danny to bump the LYRASIS environment to 4.2.6 (latest) to see if we run into any problems, which is currently on 4.1.6
    • PR open for 1279, Danny looking at it
    • 1301 will be set aside for now

    • 1318 error is coming from Spring, so to fix this would require a Spring upgrade. Setting this aside. Issue was a warning up to 11, then stopped working completely.
    • 1313 - not hanging, just looping hundreds of times. Looking to reduce the overall number of retries. PR coming soon.
    • Still need to build and test Mill update

    • 1278 - May need to split out the build to allow different actions on dev, tag, and everything else

End of the week final status

  • No resolution so far on the dependency issues with hibernate and spring first encountered in the duracloud-db tests. More work is needed here.
